Season Points
Within our four age groups, points are calculated all season long based on participation and performance in our events.
For the main format in a tournament, a first place finish is worth 15 points, second place 12, third place 10, and then one less point per position down to 1 point for 12th place. A Closest to the Pin winner gets 4 points, and a Skin is worth 4 points. Showing up and playing 18 holes is always worth 1 point, and for some events, participations points are higher to help encourage attendance. Keene and Nippo Lake are examples of triple participation points.
Playing in our Small Course Series at our designated 9-hole courses gains three participation points per course, in addition to points for overall finishing position.
The web page season points run a few days behind our schedule. It's not immediately updated, like a leaderboard is.
You must "sign in" with your NH Seniors email to see the Season Points menu item. Season points standings are found on the Events menu.
Use the "Category" drop-down box to pick one of the Age Divisions to review.
Use the "Search" field to find a particular player.
Click a player name to see a breakdown of his points. The breakdown is sorted with highest point totals at the top.
Notice that there can be several lines of points for one event. In the pictured example, this player (and his partner) at Keene tied for 7th place in Net 2 Man Better Ball. 7th place is 6 points, and 8th place is 5 points, so he has 5.5 points after those are added together and divided by 2. At Keene, he also had an Individual Skin from the Short Tees, for 4 points, and got 3 participation points.
In divisions that have gross and net categories, a player either gets points for gross or for net, whichever is worth more points.
