What Happens at a New Hampshire Seniors Event?
- The Tip Sheet tells you important information like availability of a driving range, food service, the day's game formats, handicap information, local rules. It will be an attachment to an email "tee time reminder."
- The Tee Time Reminder email will be sent to you two or three days before the event. You may also get a text message tee time reminder the day before the event. Your tee time might have changed since the email, if we have to tighten up the tee sheet because of late drop-outs or other changes.
- Check in at the NHSGA check-in and scoring table. Usually our logo is visible on the white cloth covering the table, and one or two guys are sitting there. Pick up your scorecard if a partner didn't already, and ask any questions you need to.
- People in your foursome may be playing from one tee, or from two or three different tees. Your own tees are shown in the email and text message reminders, on the scorecard, on the tee sheet, and on the web page.
For those playing a hybrid tee, (sometimes one color or number, sometimes another), there will also be an NHSGA sign with the words "Long Tees", "Middle Tees" or "Short Tees" placed on the tee box for that tee division. - If your tee does not change its color or number from hole to hole, there will not be a sign for your tee division.
- For closest to the pin and skins you are competing only against the others in your Long, Middle, or Short tee division. This is true even on holes where two of those groups may be teeing from the same tee markers.
One person in your group should use the Golf Genius App to enter scores after each hole. If you are not familiar with this easy process, ask a person at the check-in table to show it to you. (Install the Golf Genius app from your app store beforehand.) - Turn in your signed paper scorecard at the scoring table.
- Afternoon groups should turn that scorecard in to our volunteer scorers before putting clubs into their cars.
- You'll get an email at the conclusion of your round showing you your hole-by-hole score. Please check it, and email us immediately if there's an error. tournaments@nhsga.org
- We post your score to GHIN. You should not post NHSGA scores (but you should post all your other rounds of golf).
- If you win something, your prize money will either be available at the check-in table for the following event or will be mailed to your mailing address (which you keep up to date in your player profile at nhsga.org).
