The New Hampshire Senior Golfers Association endows a scholarship through the Richard D. McDonough Scholarship Foundation, awarded annually to an employee of a New Hampshire Golf Course who has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the game of golf.

 

The Mitchell Scholarship is named for Chuck and Kathi Mitchell, who were both well-loved public school teachers in New Hampshire for more than 30 years, and who worked for more than 10 years directing and managing the New Hampshire Senior Golfers Association.. 

 

In 2023, Samuel Timmer, an employee of Keene Country Club received a scholarship from us. He is a student at Calvin University, majoring in Business and Marketing.

 

The 2022 recipient of our scholarship was Hannah McCain from Den Brae Golf Course. Hannah attends Southern New Hampshire University, where she is majoring in graphic design and digital media. She was a top three golfer in the NHJWGA State Tournament for six straight years.  

 

The 2021 recipient of our scholarship was Matthew Marino-Babcock of Abenaqui Country Club. Matthew graduated from The University of New Hampshire in May, 2022, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, and now works in financial planning and wealth management in Portsmouth.
